Brown Paper Bag Flowers

I promised myself that I was not going to let Pinterest make me FEEL crafty by just pinning things to my DIY board without ever attempting them.  So I chose the simplest, easiest craft to start out with.  All you need is brown paper bags, scissors, and a glue stick.  Then follow these really great instructions over at A Place For Us.

The great thing about these is that you can make different sizes!  Using this method, it takes eight paper bags to create one flower.  I ran out of paper bags after three flowers or I probably would have kept going. Here they are with our pumpkins from the patch:

I just stuck them on the wall with some packing tape.  I need to go buy more paper bags!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a little family trip to the Pumpkin Patch and my dad got some great shots of Landon in his pumpkin hat!

He wasn't too sure about the Pumpkins or the Petting Zoo

But he did really like the Playground!

Cornstarch, Anyone?

So I came across this cookie recipe while perusing through blogs.  It claimed to be the “BEST EVER” chewy chocolate chip recipe, and I’m going to have to agree.   They are to die for.

The secret ingredient? Cornstarch. Seriously, they should put this recipe on the bag.

This Week While Garage Saling...

Best Garage Sale Find EVER. Red Baby Gap Tennies for a QUARTER.  Unfortunately they didn’t fit Landon’s extra fat little feet.  I’ll just have to tuck them away for the next Wombat ;)

Also.  This treasure chest:

I have big plans for this $7 steal!!! A pirate themed birthday just may be on the horizon :)

First Things First

What are you supposed to write for a first post?  I guess we start with introductions.

I’ve been a SAHM for about seven  months now and just needed something to organize my thoughts and keep me accountable with projects since the garage and my craft closet keep piling up with more unfinished ideas.  So here I am blogging.
My husband Ben and I have been married since April 4th, 2009.  We met in college and when I accidently dyed my hair red (to cover up the accidental pink) his response was “You make red hair look good.”   We started dating shortly thereafter. He is my best friend and I couldn’t ask for a more loving, supportive spouse.  He is my rock and never fails to make me laugh.

We have a little wombat (son) named Landon who is currently 7 months old.  Right now he is quite the little crawler and loves playing with anything that is NOT a toy.  He’s pretty much the cutest kid on the planet.

Then we have the Puppy – who is a 10 year old Springer Spaniel.  I’ve had her since I was 16 and waited too long to give her an actual name, so everyone just kept calling her Puppy.  It stuck.

And that is the little home of mine. :)
